The station is in the Atocha neighborhood of the district of Arganzuela. The original façade faces the Plaza del Emperador Carlos V, a site at which a variety of streets converge, including the Calle de Atocha, Paseo del Prado, Paseo de la Infanta Isabel, Avenida de la Ciudad de Barcelona, Calle de Méndez Álvaro, Paseo de las Delicias, Paseo de Santa María de la Cabeza, and Ronda de Atocha.

To the Airport: Using the metro Line 8 (Nuevos Ministerios – Aeropuerto T4). The trip from the begining of the line last about 15-20 minutes to the airport Terminal 4, the metro makes other stops. Inside the airport there are free buses to connect to other terminals.
Using CERCANIAS trains you can also move from the airport to the train station (and viceversa). If you have taken a long distance or AVE train. Cercanías is a short-mid distance trains that also conects with the metro system.
